Following many months of consultation, we are delighted to share our good news that the plans for the new hub building are now almost at the final stage and will be submitted for planning permission soon. Our architects Anderson, Bell, Christie have worked closely with the steering group to incorporate the ideas collected at various open meetings over the last year where many of you gave us your views on what the building should look like and what it should provide for the local community.
We have tried to ensure that the new building will reflect both the needs and aspirations of local people who will supply goods as well as those who will use the farm shop, coffee shop and other facilities, and that it will also be a destination for people from further afield to visit.
Slight amendments have been made to the plans we have shown here:
- The plant room has increased in size to include a biomass boiler facility
- A woodchip storage area will be located outside the plant room
- The first floor area will be shown as an attic space and we plan to develop this area at a later stage.
